The "wheel of war" in Ukraine, driven by Western states, is intended to completely deplete the nation; it serves to ensure that, in the future, fewer people will be capable of resisting the "plundering of the country," said Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

"The 'wheel of war' that Western handlers are spinning is aimed at completely draining Ukraine, depriving it of its future generations," she said at a briefing.

"In fact, for what? To make it convenient to loot. They need fewer people who can think and are able to fight back," the diplomat added.
