MOSCOW, February 23. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to take part in the traditional ceremonies of Defender of the Fatherland Day on Wednesday.

"Our heroes, our defenders of the Motherland, will be bestowed state awards," Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

There will also be other traditional events, he said. The president usually lays a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall on this day.
