Russia, Ethiopia sign roadmap on expansion of cooperation in peaceful nuclear development

The document contains practical steps on assessment of the prospects of nuclear energy development in Ethiopia, as well as joint plans on nuclear infrastructure development and staff training

MOSCOW, February 19. /TASS/. Russia and Ethiopia have signed a roadmap on expansion of cooperation in the area of peaceful nuclear development, according to a statement published by the Russian cabinet following a meeting between Russian Economic Development Minister Maksim Reshetnikov and Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Russian-Ethiopian Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Trade Cooperation, Ethiopian Minister of Innovation and Technology Belete Molla.

"During the meeting a roadmap on expansion of the Russian-Ethiopian cooperation in the area of peaceful nuclear development was signed. The document contains practical steps on assessment of the prospects of nuclear energy development in Ethiopia, as well as joint plans on nuclear infrastructure development and staff training," the statement reads.

TASS said earlier that the governments of Russia and Ethiopia signed an agreement on cooperation in the area of peaceful nuclear development in 2019, while in 2023 Russia’s Rosatom state corporation drafted a respective roadmap with the Ethiopian side.
