MOSCOW, February 19. /TASS/. The Riyadh negotiations between Russia and the US are a crucial step towards a future resolution in Ukraine, said presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"A very, very important step has been taken towards creating such conditions for achieving a peaceful resolution," the Kremlin spokesman said.

"Due political will has been shown on both sides - I mean in this case Russia and the US."

At the meeting on February 18, representatives of Russia and the US discussed mainly the issues of Russian-US relations and made the first steps towards the start of negotiations on the Ukrainian conflict.
