Russian forces prevent Ukrainian breakthrough in DPR — military expert

Andrey Marochko specified that, in spite of serious pressure on the part of the enemy, Russian forces prevented a breakthrough through their lines, successfully repelling all Ukrainian attacks

LUGANSK, February 6. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces, numbering about 80 troops, have been actively attempting assaults near Yampolovka and Torskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS.

He noted that Russian forces had prevented any breakthrough through their lines of defense.

"In the vicinity of the villages of Yampolovka and Torskoye, Ukrainian militants made several attempts to break through our frontlines and regain their positions lost earlier. Overall, the adversary used about 80 personnel and up to 10 various armored units in active assaults over the past couple of days. Ukrainian artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles were actively engaged," he said.

The expert specified that, in spite of serious pressure on the part of the enemy, Russian forces prevented a breakthrough through their lines, successfully repelling all Ukrainian attacks. The losses of the Ukrainian army are being clarified.
