BUENOS AIRES, December 27. /TASS/. Argentina and Russia keep interaction at a working level but relations were affected by the political situation, Russian Ambassador in Buenos Aires Dmitry Feoktistov told TASS.

"As regards the relations with the Argentine Republic, then, certainly, we cannot be fully satisfied with them and expected that they would be less dependent on the political situation and the geopolitical setting. Working communications continue at all levels between the embassy and the administration but the political dialog at a summit and high level is actually frozen to date," the Ambassador said.

The trade turnover between the countries is steadily declining and figures of this year are twice lower than several years ago, Feoktistov said. "Despite the verbal readiness to promote trade and economic relations, we have not seen thus far the reaction of the administration to give an impetus to such interaction, particularly by organizing the next meeting of the bilateral commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation, which has not meet as long as since 2019. This is so, considering that Argentina always has the positive balance in the trade turnover with Russia," he added.
