MOSCOW, December 27. /TASS/. Studies of the Arctic Region will continue because the buildup of presence there is particularly important amid propaganda statements of the collective West, Executive Director of the Russian Geographical Society (RGS) Artyom Manukyan said.

"It should be noted that the particular attention is paid to the Arctic zone as one of strategically important territories. Its cleanup and studies will continue. The buildup of presence in the Arctic Region is extremely important because the collective West is already carrying propaganda under slogans that ‘the Arctic is not Russian only," Manukyan said.

The information policy of unfriendly countries is often built on distorting historical facts, he stressed. "We are working in our turn to preserve the historical and cultural heritage and show the real picture - we create different projects, from research and publishing ones to 3D models of historical objects and digital portals, preserving Russian names of territories and objects and the truth about their discoverers and creators, instead of artificially invented or renamed ones," Manukyan added.
