Kremlin releases Putin’s work agenda in St. Petersburg
Putin is scheduled to hold an informal CIS summit on Wednesday
ST. PETERSBURG, December 24. /TASS/. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced details of President Vladimir Putin's work agenda in St. Petersburg and the surrounding region, where he will be working through Thursday.
"Today we will deal with cultural affairs. The president will meet with [Hermitage Director Mikhail] Piotrovsky and decorate him with the Order For Merit to the Fatherland, First Class," the spokesman said.
Afterward, closer toward the evening, Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon will begin a working visit to Russia.
"Negotiations - one-on-one talks - will take place in the Leningrad Region. And then the leaders will continue in the format of a working lunch," Peskov said.
Putin is scheduled to hold an informal CIS summit on Wednesday.
"This is a traditional New Year event ahead of the New Year," the spokesman said. "Despite its informal status, as a rule, it is a very good opportunity to once again compare notes on all pressing issues and hold bilateral contacts on the sidelines - a chance that all leaders, as a rule, make use of."
On Thursday, the Eurasian Economic Union summit is expected to hold meetings. Meetings will be held in a narrow and enlarged composition. A "solid" package of documents has been prepared, according to the spokesman.
"We hope that the president will very briefly summarize for you the results of these two days," he said.
