MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in a ceremony of opening new transport infrastructure facilities across Russia via a video link.
In particular, the Russian leader launched auto traffic on highway 289 linking Krasnodar, Slavyansk-on-Kuban and Temryuk and the A290 Novorossiysk-Kerch motorway.
Putin also took part in the ceremony of opening international airports in Magadan, Cheboksary, and Stavropol.
"Deputy Prime Minister [Vitaly] Savelyev reported about traffic flows this year. Last year, the passenger traffic was some 105 million, this year, we are likely to have 111 million," the president recalled. "But in general, the figure is quite good. In this light, airports, naturally, play a key role."
The Russian president stressed that the development of infrastructure is among the government’s priorities for the coming years. "Its development creates favorably and comfortable conditions for people, which is task number one for us. Moreover, it creates conditions for economic development, which is very important, links the entire territory, makes it possible to develop more rapidly," Putin said, adding that there are more plans to build and develop infrastructure.
"I am convinced they will be implemented," he added.
