MOSCOW, December 21. /TASS/. The Kremlin can neither confirm nor deny the information that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico may visit Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"We will inform everything in due time, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We need to be a little patient," Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said when asked by TASS whether Fico might indeed visit the Russian capital on Monday, December 23.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said earlier that the Slovak prime minister intended to hold talks with Putin on December 23 amid Vladimir Zelensky's refusal to extend gas transit through Ukraine.

Earlier, Fico pointed out that Zelensky's decision to refuse to extend gas transit through Ukraine would lead Slovakia to a crisis. The transit of Russian gas through Ukraine is expected to end on January 1, 2025, when the five-year contract expires.
