MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in a telephone conversation with his Venezuelan counterpart Yvan Gil Pinto expressed support for the country's leadership ahead of President Nicolas Maduro's inauguration for a new term, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

"The Russian foreign minister expressed support for the Venezuelan leadership ahead of the inauguration of President Maduro for another term," the ministry said in a statement.

According to Russian diplomat, the sides also discussed current bilateral issues and "confirmed the mutual mood for further comprehensive coordination of Russia-Venezuela interaction in global affairs."
