During Maduro’s inauguration, Russia to be represented at due level — diplomat
The invitation was sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin
MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Russia will be duly represented during the inauguration ceremony of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on January 10, said Alexander Shchetinin, the director of the Latin American department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"An important event will be held in Caracas on January 10: Nicolas Maduro will be inaugurated for a new presidential term. The Russian side has been invited and will be represented at a due level," he told the Izvestia daily.
Earlier, the Russian embassy in Caracas confirmed that the timeframe of the Russian delegation’s visit is currently being worked out via diplomatic channels. Although the invitation was sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the final decision on who will represent Russia at the ceremony is yet to be made.
