Ukraine will soon run out of willing fighters, Putin says
The head of state pointed out that ex-British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had said at some point that Ukraine "needs to keep fighting until the last Ukrainian"
MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. Ukraine will soon run out of people who are willing to fight, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at his combined annual press conference and question-and-answer session.
The head of state pointed out that ex-British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had said at some point that Ukraine "needs to keep fighting until the last Ukrainian." "So, this is what they are doing - fighting. They will soon run out of Ukrainians willing to fight," the Russian leader noted.
"As for us, we are ready [for talks]. However, the other party should also be willing to engage in negotiations and make compromises," Putin stressed in response to an American journalist's question about Russia’s readiness for compromises with regard to the conflict around Ukraine.
David Arakhamia, leader of the Servant of the People faction in Ukraine’s parliament, said in an interview with the Strana online news outlet in 2023 that Ukraine had withdrawn from talks with Russia in 2022 after Johnson’s visit to Kiev.
