Russian diplomat believes current tensions in security field unprecedented
According to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, the situation was more predictable in previous years
MOSCOW, December 18. /TASS/. The current tensions in the security area are unprecedented, while international relations are practically unmanageable and chaotic, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said at a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
"There are no precedents and no parallels to what is happening now," he said. "The chaotization of international life and the lack of control over it have reached a level that, in my opinion, can’t be compared to anything in the past."
According to the official, the situation was more predictable in previous years. He also likened relations between players on the world stage to a chess game.
"In other times, pieces on the board were arranged differently. It was clearer which pieces could move where, to which fields, and where they could not, and what the risk was of this or that mistake," he said.
