Russia, Ukraine agree on exchanging packages for POWs for New Year’s Eve

MINSK, December 12. /TASS/. Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova has reached an agreement with her Ukrainian counterpart on exchanging care packages for prisoners of war (POWs) for the New Year’s Eve.
Replying to a question by TASS, she told reporters: "The Ukrainian ombudsman and I have agreed that in time for the New Year, we will hand over packages with notes, letters from home, children’s drawings, and various items. This exchange is expected to take place in December on the Russian-Belarusian border or elsewhere," Moskalkova said.
The ombudswoman thanked the Belarusian side, which is acting "effectively as a peacekeeper and a mediator in humanitarian initiatives" between Moscow and Kiev.
