Moldova following Ukraine’s path, Russian diplomat warns
Maria Zakharova commented on reports of Chisinau signing a defense and security partnership agreement with London
MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. Chisinau continues to follow the path already taken by the Kiev regime, entrusting national security to the West, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.
"The Moldovan authorities continue to follow the destructive path trodden by the Kiev regime, literally entrusting the country’s security and the future of its people to the West," she said, commenting on reports of Chisinau signing a defense and security partnership agreement with London.
The diplomat pointed out that under the accord, the British were prepared to allocate around two million pounds for cybersecurity alone, "which, to the Moldovan leadership, means blocking opposition websites, particularly Russian-language ones."
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, in such situations, Western countries "squeeze out as many resources as possible, plunging the situation into chaos and eventually suggesting that aid recipients resolve the emerging problems on their own." "You don’t believe that it’s true? Look at what they did in Ukraine," Zakharova concluded.
