MOSCOW, December 3. /TASS/. Russian troops liberated two communities in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Zaporozhye Region over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday.

"Battlegroup South units liberated the settlement of Romanovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic as a result of decisive operations… Battlegroup East units liberated the settlement of Novodarovka in the Zaporozhye Region as a result of active operations," the ministry said in a statement.

Russia’s Battlegroup North inflicted more than 40 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed an enemy artillery system in its area of responsibility in the Kharkov Region over the past day, the ministry reported.

"In the Kharkov direction, Battlegroup North units inflicted losses on formations of the Ukrainian army’s 95th air assault and 13th National Guard brigades in areas near the settlements of Neskuchnoye and Slatino in the Kharkov Region," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army’s losses in that frontline area over the past 24 hours amounted to more than 40 personnel, two motor vehicles and a 122mm Gvozdika motorized artillery system, it specified.

Russia’s Battlegroup West inflicted roughly 460 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed two US-made artillery guns in its area of responsibility over the past day, the ministry reported.

"Battlegroup West units improved their tactical position and inflicted damage on manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 44th mechanized, 25th airborne and 115th territorial defense brigades in areas near the settlements of Kupyansk and Lozovaya in the Kharkov Region and Ivanovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. They repelled 11 counterattacks by assault groups of the 1st and 4th National Guard and 113th territorial defense brigades," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army’s losses in that frontline area over the past 24 hours amounted to 460 personnel, two motor vehicles, a 122mm D-30 howitzer and two US-made 105mm M119 artillery guns, it specified.

In addition, Russian forces destroyed an Anklav-N electronic warfare station and three field ammunition depots of the Ukrainian army, it said.

Russia’s Battlegroup South inflicted roughly 370 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed an enemy ammunition depot over the past day, the ministry reported.

Over the past 24 hours, Battlegroup South units "inflicted casualties on formations of the Ukrainian army’s 46th airmobile, 79th air assault and 37th marine infantry brigades in areas near the settlements of Konstantinovka, Dachnoye and Slavyansk in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army’s losses in that frontline area over the past 24 hours amounted to 370 personnel, an infantry fighting vehicle, five motor vehicles and an electronic warfare station, it specified.

In addition, Russian forces destroyed a field ammunition depot of the Ukrainian army, the ministry said.

Russia’s Battlegroup Center inflicted more than 555 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed three enemy artillery guns in its area of responsibility over the past day, the ministry reported.

"Battlegroup Center units improved their frontline positions and inflicted damage on manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 59th mechanized, 38th marine infantry and 14th National Guard brigades in areas near the settlements of Shevchenko, Grodovka and Dimitrov in the Donetsk People’s Republic. They repulsed 12 counterattacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 42nd and 100th mechanized, 56th motorized infantry, 71st jaeger and 35th marine infantry brigades," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army’s losses in that frontline area over the past 24 hours amounted to more than 555 personnel, four armored combat vehicles, five motor vehicles, a 152mm Msta-B howitzer and two 122mm D-30 howitzers, it specified.

Russia’s Battlegroup East inflicted roughly 155 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed an enemy tank and four armored combat vehicles in its area of responsibility over the past day, the ministry reported.

Over the past 24 hours, Battlegroup East units "inflicted casualties on formations of the Ukrainian army’s 33rd mechanized, 127th and 241st territorial defense brigades in areas near the settlements of Razliv, Komar and Oktyabr in the Donetsk People’s Republic. They repelled two counterattacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army’s losses in that frontline area over the past 24 hours amounted to 155 personnel, a tank, four armored combat vehicles, five motor vehicles and a 152mm Akatsiya motorized artillery system, it specified.

Russia’s Battlegroup Dnepr inflicted roughly 60 casualties on Ukrainian troops in its area of responsibility over the past day, the ministry reported.

"Battlegroup Dnepr units inflicted damage on manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 124th and 128th territorial defense brigades in areas near the settlements of Molodyozhnoye and Nikolskoye in the Kherson Region," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army’s losses in that frontline area over the past 24 hours amounted to 60 personnel and three motor vehicles, it specified.

Russian troops struck power facilities of Ukraine’s military-industrial sector and military airfields over the past day, the ministry reported.

"Operational/tactical aircraft, attack unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groups of forces struck power facilities of Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises, infrastructure of military airfields and amassed enemy manpower and military equipment in 142 areas," the ministry said.

Russian air defenses destroy 40 Ukrainian UAVs over past day

Russian air defense forces shot down 40 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the past day, the ministry reported.

"Air defense capabilities shot down 40 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles, including four UAVs outside the area of the special military operation," the ministry said.

Overall, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 649 Ukrainian warplanes, 283 helicopters, 37,122 unmanned aerial vehicles, 586 surface-to-air missile systems, 19,600 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,497 multiple rocket launchers, 18,897 field artillery guns and mortars and 28,957 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation, the ministry reported.
