MOSCOW, December 2. /TASS/. There are currently no plans to organize a phone call between the Russian and Turkish Presidents, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, over the changing situation in Syria, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told TASS.

"At this moment, no," he said when asked whether there are such plans.

Their previous phone call was held on November 24. Back then, the two presidents discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and "a range of international topics," the Kremlin said.

The situation in Syria has escalated following an attack by illegal armed groups on the country’s northwestern governorates.

Peskov told journalists earlier that Russia continues supporting Syrian President Bashar Assad, maintains communication with Damascus and is following the situation in that country closely.
