"We don’t have the information as to who these people are but on the other hand, it’s clear that they violated the country’s laws by taking part in attacks on law enforcement officers," Dmitry Peskov noted

MOSCOW, December 2. /TASS/. Moscow intends to get full information about the Russian nationals who were detained during anti-government protests in Georgia, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"We don’t have the information as to who these people are but on the other hand, it’s clear that they violated the country’s laws by taking part in attacks on law enforcement officers," he noted.

"There is an office representing our interests in Georgia that will be able to ensure communication and get the information about the charges brought against these people, Peskov said, adding: "But we don’t know who they are."

On November 30, Dmitry Trofimov, head of the Russian interests section in the Swiss embassy in Georgia, told TASS that the section had not been officially notified of any detained Russians but it was keeping an eye on the situation and urged Russian citizens to avoid taking part in political rallies.

Georgia’s Imedi TV channel reported earlier that eight Russian citizens had been detained during riots in front of the parliament building in the country’s capital of Tbilisi. According to the broadcaster, those detained are charged with disorderly conduct and disobeying police.
