MOSCOW, December 2. /TASS/. Russia continues to support Syrian President Bashar Assad, stays in touch with Damascus and analyzes the situation in that country, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told the media.

"Of course, we continue to support Bashar Assad, and accordingly we are continuing our communication and analyzing the situation," Peskov said.

He added that a position would be formed on what was needed to stabilize the situation.
