MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. Russia’s aerospace forces eliminated at least 200 militants from the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization (outlawed in Russia) and other radical groups that launched an offensive in the Syrian governorates of Aleppo and Idlib, Oleg Ignasyuk, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said.

"The Russian reconciliation center states that the situation in Syria continues aggravating following the attack by the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group and other radical opposition armed units on positions of Syrian government troops in the Aleppo and Idlib governorates," he said.

According to Ignasyuk, Russia’s aerospace forces are backing the Syrian government army and deliver missile strikes on positions of illegal armed groups, their weapons, control centers, and weapons depots. "During the past day, at least 200 militants were eliminated," he said, adding that the operation against extremists continues.

Violations of Syrias’ airspace

He also said that aircraft of the so-called international anti-terrorist coalition led by the United States continue to create dangerous situations that may cause air accidents or incidents and escalate the situation in Syria’s airspace

Thus, a pair of the coalition’s F-15 fighter jets (four times) violated Syria’s airspace in the al-Tanf area, across which international air routes run, eight during the day.

Apart from that, four violations of the deconfliction protocols of December 9, 2019 linked with the flights by the US-led coalition unmanned aerial vehicles were reported during the day, he added.
