CSTO leaders sign 14 documents at summit in Astana — Kremlin
The summit participants signed protocols on amending the agreement on cooperation of the CSTO states in the field of transportation of military and other formations
ASTANA, November 28. /TASS/. The presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan signed 14 documents following the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Astana, the Kremlin press service reported.
Among the documents signed was the CSTO Collective Security Council decision "On Further Strengthening of Allied Relations Within the Framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization," the press service said. The sides also signed were a declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council, a decision on a targeted program to strengthen the Tajik-Afghan border, and a statement in connection with the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
In addition, the summit participants signed protocols on amending the agreement on cooperation of the CSTO states in the field of transportation of military and other formations, their movable property and military products, on amending the CSTO agreement on the status of formations of the armed forces and means of the collective security system. The decisions "On the List of Standard Modern and Prospective Samples of Weapons, Military and Special Equipment Proposed for Use by the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the Central Asian Region of Collective Security," on the plan of events in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, on awarding the organization’s rewards were adopted.
The decisions on the report on the implementation of the CSTO budget in 2023, on amending the budget of the organization in 2024 and on the budget for 2025 were also approved.
According to the press service of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who chaired the summit, "the documents adopted in Astana are aimed at further comprehensive development of the organization and the system of collective security in the interests of all its members." The leadership of Armenia, which is also a member of the CSTO, did not attend the events in the Kazakh capital.
