The Russian leader additionally stressed that "certainly, Oreshnik is not a weapon of mass destruction"
ASTANA, November 28. /TASS/. Several Oreshnik missiles fired in a concentrated barrage could potentially do the same amount of damage as a nuclear strike, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a limited-circle session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
"In the opinion of military and technical experts, in the event of a massive barrage with these missiles, that is, several missiles at once, in a cluster, their single strike will be comparable to the use of nuclear weapons. Even though, certainly, Oreshnik is not a weapon of mass destruction," the Russian leader said.
Putin particularly stressed that the November 21 trials confirmed that Oreshnik is a high-precision weapon. "What is important here is that there is no nuclear charge, and, therefore, no nuclear contamination after its use," the Russian president emphasized.
