Sergey Ryabkov warned Russia’s adversaries against settling into a "false sense of security"

MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/. Russia may deploy shorter- and intermediate-range missiles in the Asia Pacific region in response to the United States’ actions, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said.

"Naturally, this is one potential option we have repeatedly warned about. Our further steps, including in what concerns our military-technical response, will depend on the deployment of corresponding US systems in any region of the world," he told journalists when asked about the potential deployment of shorter-and intermediate-range missiles in Asian countries.

He warned Russia’s adversaries against settling into a "false sense of security." "At this time, persuasion, some sort of arguments, may continue to be used, of course, but practice shows that they have little effect, so, stronger means are needed, including the deployment of such systems where they can act as a compensatory measure and from where they can reach relevant targets," the senior Russian diplomat added.
