LUGANSK, November 22. /TASS/. Russian servicemen have destroyed a fortified area occupied by the Ukrainian armed forces in Makeyevka, located in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), and seized enemy positions, Andrey Marochko, a military expert, told TASS.

"In the course of active combat operations, our troops succeeded in destroying an enemy fortification west of the settlement of Makeyevka in the LPR, capturing positions abandoned by Ukrainian forces," he said.

The expert noted that the Russian forces' advances along this stretch of the front are facilitated by their control over an earlier seized strategic position, as "the activities of the assault groups are provided with cover," and "the Russian Armed Forces outnumber Ukrainian units, which allows pushing through the enemy defense lines."
