MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. The outgoing US administration is fully committed to prolonging the war in Ukraine, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

Commenting on a Washington Post report about US President Joe Biden authorizing the provision of anti-personnel landmines to Ukraine, he said: "It’s hard to say whether it’s true."

"Still, based on the overall trends in the outgoing US administration, they [the Americans] are fully committed to continuing the war, as they are doing their utmost to achieve this goal in the time remaining to them," Peskov stressed. "Yesterday, there was a decision on missile strikes on our territory, and now, a decision has probably been made on anti-personnel mines," he noted.

The Russian presidential spokesman also pointed out that Kiev was a signatory to the UN convention banning anti-personnel landmines. "It’s a situation worth noting. You know that neither Russia nor the US signed the convention. We aren’t its signatories. However, Ukraine is," Peskov said.
