Russia to seek after transparent investigation of Nord Stream terrorist act — Lavrov
The minister explained why the provision of infrastructure protection was added to the declaration
RIO DE JANEIRO, November 19. /TASS/. Russia will appeal to the G20 Summit declaration when seeking after transparency in the investigation of the terrorist act at Nord Stream pipelines, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the press conference after the summit.
Participants in the Group of Twenty (G20) summit confirmed in the declaration that all the parties should perform their obligations under the international law, including the international humanitarian law and the international human rights law. They condemned all the attacks against civilians and the infrastructure.
"We will endeavor that this declaration is one of arguments we will use to provide for transparency of investigation," Lavrov said. "Germany and other countries that initiated the investigation do not share results of their work for the time being," he noted.
The minister explained why the provision of infrastructure protection was added to the declaration. "It is unacceptable that civilian population is suffering or civilian infrastructure is affected," Lavrov stressed, when speaking about conflicts between countries.
