The Russian foreign minister noted that the German chancellor's stance "differs from the position of the British and the French"
RIO DE JANEIRO, November 19. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has hailed German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s refusal to send Taurus missiles to Ukraine and allow it to use its weapons for strikes inside Russia as a responsible position.
"Scholz has repeatedly said that this is his principled position, despite all the criticism from The Greens, someone else, [Friedrich] Merz from CDU (the Christian Democratic Union - TASS), who demand to issue such an authorization. Well, I think Scholz’s position is a responsible stance," he told a news conference after taking part in the Group of Twenty summit.
"It is an undeniable fact that it [Scholz’s position] differs from the position of the British and the French," Lavrov added.
