On the eve of the talks, DPRK officials hosted a reception for the Russian delegation led by Alexander Kozlov, minister of Natural Resources and Ecology

SEOUL, November 19. /TASS/. The talks between Russia and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea through Inter-governmental Committee for Cooperation in Trade, Economy, Science and Technology cover many fields and are substantive and practical, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

"The talks attended by relevant officials of both sides are deeply discussing detailed matters for realizing cooperation in various fields to be reflected in the protocol of the meeting," the agency informed.

"Talks involving different sectors for the 11th meeting of Inter-governmental committee" are currently underway, the KCNA noted.

On the eve of the talks, DPRK officials hosted a reception for the Russian delegation led by Alexander Kozlov, minister of Natural Resources and Ecology. Also at the meeting was Yun Jong Ho, the minister of External Economic Relations of the DPRK, who co-chairs the committee with Kozlov. Russian ambassador to the DPRK Alexander Matsegora was also in attendance.

"Mutual cooperation and visits have been brisk in all fields, including politics, economy, culture and sports," between the two countries under The Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Russian Federation and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Yun Jong Ho emphasized at the reception.

The current meeting of the Inter-governmental committee will serve as a boon for cooperation between the countries and produce practical results that promote the well-being of the peoples of the two countries by increasing joint cooperation, he said.

The meeting will outline how cooperation between the two countries will develop going forward, Alexander Kozlov said at the welcoming event.

"The friendly relations between the top leaders of the two countries and the cooperation and support between the two sides serve as a good example of the coexistence of the two powerful states in the present century, he expressed the will to contribute to the expansion and development of the Russia-DPRK friendly relations in a golden age," Kozlov said, adding that he will do his utmost to help Russia-DPRK develop further.

The Russian minister stated that Russia is ready to promote friendly, prosperous relations. The participants at the reception proposed a toast to the health of the leaders of Russia and North Korea.
