MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. Russia does not interfere in the internal affairs of the United States and it has never done so, Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a news briefing, when asked to comment on appointments in the future administration of President-elect Donald Trump, in particular the decision to make China’s firm opponent Marco Rubio US Secretary of State.

"We are not going to interfere in America’s domestic affairs. We don't have the slightest intention. In fact, we have never done that and we are not doing it," the Kremlin spokesman stated.

Earlier, Trump announced the nomination of Florida Senator Marco Rubio for the secretary of state. Rubio is a conservative: on the one hand, he is in favor of reducing aid to Ukraine, but on the other hand, he positions himself as an "anti-Communist" and a critic of Cuba and China. According to Trump countering China is one of United States’ priorities.
