MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. The growing role of BRICS in promoting the interests of the Global South strengthens the importance of developing countries in the international arena, Russian Foreign Ministry’s Ambassador-at-Large and BRICS sous-sherpa Pavel Knyazev said.

"At the moment, the potential is largely distributed in favor of new centers of power, and new centers are recruited in Asia, Africa, America and the Middle East," he said at the international scientific conference ‘The Future of Diplomacy and Diplomatic Services.’ "In the context of the national role, we see that the growing role of BRICS in promoting the interests of the Global South space strengthens the importance of the voice of developing countries in international relations," he pointed out.

Knyazev also read out a greeting from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

"Within the BRICS framework, representatives of different countries, civilizations, religions and cultures cooperate on the basis of the BRICS principles of mutual respect, openness and solidarity," the top diplomat emphasized. "In the current new geopolitical conditions, it is difficult to overestimate the importance of diplomacy," he said.
