Russia to judge Trump's position on Ukraine by his concrete steps — MFA
Russia, Maria Zakharova said, is a self-sufficient country "that respects international law and is ready and open to developing mutually beneficial relations or respect with the entire world"
MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. Russia will judge US President-elect Donald Trump's stance on the Ukrainian conflict by concrete steps, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has told a news briefing.
"President Vladimir Putin commented on Trump's intentions while speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club’s forum. He said that that they deserved attention. As for actions, they are to materialize first. Then we will be able to comment on them, too," Zakharova said when asked about Trump's intentions to work for ending the conflict in Ukraine.
"When something is yet to happen, but it is not clear what that something really is, and when it begins to be denied right away, I think that this is a picture of the current US political landscape."
Russia, Zakharova said, is a self-sufficient country "that respects international law and is ready and open to developing mutually beneficial relations or respect with the entire world."
"We know how to respond and fight back to defending national interests on the basis of international law," Zakharova concluded.
