West wants to continue hybrid war against Russia, not interested in peace — diplomat
Maria Zakharova pointed to a recent statement by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte who urged the bloc’s member states to "recommit to stay in the course for the long haul"
MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. The West wants to continue its hybrid war against Moscow using Ukraine as the weapon, and not peace, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.
"Achieving peace is not part of the West’s plan," she stated. "They are still determined to continue their hybrid war against our country until the last Ukrainian, using the Kiev regime as a proxy," Zakharova added.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman pointed to a recent statement by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte who urged the bloc’s member states to "recommit to stay in the course for the long haul." According to him, NATO countries "must do more than just keep Ukraine in the fight" - they "need to raise the cost for Putin and his enabling authoritarian friends."
"This statement does not call for de-escalation, peace talks or a search for a political and diplomatic way out of the situation. This is a call for continued bloodshed," the Russian diplomat stressed. She also called NATO out for its hypocrisy, as "the same people who throw around the idea of so-called peace conferences and promote some ‘peace’ initiatives, also declare a policy of war."
