Russia plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060
BAKU, November 13. /TASS/. Moscow seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and it is ready to cooperate with all interested countries for the global settlement of the problem, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the UN Climate Change Conference in Baku.
"Russia remains committed to low-carbon development goals. We modernize our legislation, provide voluntary assistance to vulnerable countries in the climate direction, and we are ready to continue this work. We maintain a close dialogue with all interested countries," he said.
Carbon neutrality suggests reduction to zero of greenhouse gas emissions in production of goods and services or environmental initiatives offsetting them. Russia plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
