The continent’s development processes are gaining momentum, Mikhail Bogdanov noted

MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. Africa stands a good chance to become an advanced continent, Russian Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said in an interview with TASS following the first Russia-Africa ministerial conference.

"It’s already becoming. The processes are very positive," he said. Indeed, self-awareness is increasing, people are educated and politicized in a good way. Now the main goal is to strengthen sovereignty. Moreover, the economic and political aspects are related with sovereignty, and we are ready to provide support for that."

The continent’s development processes are gaining momentum, Bogdanov noted. "We see this in many countries when they get rid from such an obsessive dictate, neo-colonial ambitions of the West, and self-awareness is increased in terms of strengthening state sovereignty. Certainly, this requires an economic independence that strengthens political sovereignty," he added.
