Russian Security Council secretary meets with senior Chinese official
The meeting involves consultations on security, justice and public order
BEIJING, November 13. /TASS/. Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu has met with Chen Wenqing, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of China’s Communist Party and the secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission.
"These days, Russian-Chinese relations, our comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction are at a historically unprecedented high level. Russia and China have similar approaches to key international and regional issues," Shoigu said.
The meeting involves consultations on security, justice and public order.
Chen noted that over recent years, Chinese leader Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin have achieved a number of important agreements on the development of Russian-Chinese ties, comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction in the new era, as well as mapped out future approaches.
"I am ready for a profound exchange of opinions on bilateral relations, especially on cooperation on law enforcement and security, as well as for the promotion of practical cooperation in all spheres in order to contribute to the peaceful development of the two countries, the region and the world," he added.
