MOSCOW, November 12. /TASS/. Russia will insist that the Group of 20 conclude its upcoming summit with a declaration based on the principles of multipolarity, depoliticization and giving a bigger role to the global majority, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Ambassador-at-Large Marat Berdyev said.
"We are working to have a G20 leaders’ document that is based on the principles of taking into account the multipolar realities of the modern world, providing a depoliticized response to current social and economic challenges, reforming global institutions to strengthen the role of global majority countries in their decision-making mechanisms," he said on Telegram.
He mentioned that the fourth meeting of G20 sherpas kicked off on Tuesday, with one of the goals being to finalize the draft of the summit’s concluding declaration.
"The Russian negotiating team, which is led by Svetlana Lukash and includes specialists from the Foreign Ministry, the Economic Development Ministry and the Finance Ministry, is hard at work promoting Russia's principled approaches," Berdyev said.
The G20 will hold a summit in Rio de Janeiro from November 18-19. The Russian delegation will be led by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as was directed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
