Putin’s instructions after EEF to boost Russia’s cooperation with friendly states — envoy

MOSCOW, November 12. /TASS/. The instructions President Vladimir Putin gave to the government after the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) will strengthen Russia’s cooperation with friendly countries and speed up the implementation of master plans, Deputy Prime Minister, the President's envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Yury Trutnev, said.

"Instructions the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin issued following the EEF will give a new impetus to strengthening the macro-region. They will help speed up the implementation of master plans and the renovation of cities, improve the standard of living of residents of Russia’s Far East region and strengthen international cooperation with friendly countries," the press service quotes the envoy as saying.

The President's instructions following the plenary session of the EEF include the development of a roadmap for the development of Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island jointly with the People's Republic of China, which should be implemented as early as 2025. The cooperation includes measures to create transport and border infrastructure on the island.

In turn, Advisor to the Russian President, Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee, Anton Kobyakov, noted that the document touches upon priority areas that will ensure sustainable socio-economic development of the region, create new jobs and improve the standard of living of the population.

"Special attention is paid to transport infrastructure and the creation of competitive international territories of advanced development - the basis for attracting investment and increasing the export potential of the region," Kobyakov added.

The key instructions also include acceleration of the development of transport infrastructure, including measures to increase container rail transportation in the direction of Central Russia and air transportation within the Far Eastern Federal District, expanding the use of helicopters and small aircraft, as well as creating conditions for attracting private investment in this sector.

This year, the Eastern Economic Forum was held from September 3 to 6 in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. The main theme of the EEF in 2024 was ‘Far East 2030. Combining Strengths to Create New Potential’.

Earlier, the Roscongress Foundation Telegram channel reported that the 10th EEF will be held in Vladivostok from September 3 to 6, 2025.
