CHISINAU, November 12. /TASS/. Russian Ambassador to Chisinau, Oleg Ozerov, described the conversation at the Moldovan Foreign Ministry as useful, noting that it allowed both sides to clarify their approaches to pressing issues.

Before the meeting, the Russian diplomat stated that he had come for a scheduled meeting, not in response to a summons. The discussion lasted about an hour and a half.

"In my opinion, this was a useful conversation that allowed the parties to clarify their approaches to complex and pressing issues in our bilateral relations," he emphasized. He noted that the Moldovan Foreign Ministry hosted "a thorough discussion about the current state and future prospects of Russia-Moldova relations." "As you can see, it was a lengthy conversation, involving a detailed examination of all issues concerning both the embassy's activities and bilateral relations in general," he added.

Ozerov earlier reported that the meeting focused on the issue of drones that had recently fallen in Moldova, which Chisinau attributes to Russian origin. Following the meeting with the Russian ambassador, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry stated that the envoy had been handed a note of protest over Moscow's alleged interference in the election.

Moldova has repeatedly accused Russia of leaving UAV debris on its territory, although most were identified by experts as boosters from Ukrainian air defense missiles. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova firmly rejected Chisinau’s accusations that Russian UAVs had allegedly violated Moldovan airspace, calling them unfounded.

Moldova held its runoff presidential election on November 3. According to the country’s Central Election Commission, incumbent President Maia Sandu received 55.33% of the vote, while her rival, former Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo, gained 44.67%. Notably, Stoianoglo won the vote inside the country, garnering 51%. Moldovan Presidential Security Advisor Stanislav Secrieru accused Moscow of allegedly meddling in the runoff election.
