Over 40 African ministers to attend Russia-Africa conference in Sirius
The Roscongress Foundation added that the event will be attended by the leadership of the African Union Commission and executive bodies of regional integration associations
MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. More than 40 African ministers will take part in the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum to be held on November 9-10 in the Sirius Federal territory, the press service of the Roscongress Foundation told TASS.
"So far, more than 1,500 participants have confirmed their participation, including more than 40 ministers of foreign affairs, education and science, digital development and technology, economy, industry, health, youth policy of Algeria, Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Guinea, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Libya, Mauritania, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Republic of Seychelles, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, Ethiopia," the press service said.
In addition, it reported that the event will be attended by the leadership of the African Union Commission and executive bodies of regional integration associations. Representatives of financial institutions, Russian and African business, public and scientific circles and mass media are invited to participate in the business program of the conference.
Forum program
According to Roscongress, the forum program includes 19 sessions and thematic events: the participants will discuss cooperation in the spheres of security, including information security, economy and humanitarian interaction, as well as transfer of competencies, digitalization of public administration, education, training of diplomatic personnel, health care and epidemiological well-being. In addition, the parties will consider the interaction between the African continent and the Eurasian Economic Union.
In addition, bilateral consultations are planned to be held on the platform of the ministerial conference. At the end of the event, the participants are expected to sign a joint declaration on measures to create a fair and equitable system of international information security.
"We have established bilateral intergovernmental commissions for trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation with many states on the [African] continent, and the network of Russian embassies and trade missions in Africa is being expanded. Additional instruments are being actively developed to better structure economic relations and give them greater dynamism. I am confident that the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum will strengthen our agreements and become another historic event in the recent history," Russian presidential advisor and Organizing Committee Executive Secretary Anton Kobyakov said.
