Russia hopes Kazakhstan to join BRICS as partner country — Lavrov

Earlier in the day, at a meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Murat Nurtleu, the top Russian diplomat said that "Kazakhstan has received an invitation to join BRICS as a partner country"

ASTANA, November 7. /TASS/. Russian hopes Kazakhstan will join BRICS as a partner state, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a meeting with students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"We appreciated the participation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the BRICS summit in Kazan and, of course, we expect to see Kazakhstan among the countries which will join BRICS as partner states," he said.

Earlier in the day, at a meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Murat Nurtleu, Lavrov said that "Kazakhstan has received an invitation to join BRICS as a partner country."

"We hope that this will enrich our contacts on acute global problems in the era of change we are witnessing and living through," he said.
