Lavrov arrives in Astana for talks with Kazakh counterpart
The top Russian diplomat is also expected to meet with the faculty and students of Astana university
ASTANA, November 6. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has arrived in Astana on a two-day working visit, a TASS correspondent reported.
The top Russian diplomat will hold talks with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu. Apart from this, he is expected to meet with the faculty and students of Astana university.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said earlier that Lavrov’s talks in Kazakhstan will focus on preparations for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to that country. The sides will also discuss the bilateral agenda and current international topics of mutual interest. "And, naturally, the sides will exchange views on cooperation within integration platforms, first of all, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)," she said.
