Era of global changes to last for decades — Kremlin spokesman
According to Dmitry Peskov, the world is moving from the unipolar model to a "multipolar system, a fairer, non-colonial system, where relations of equality, mutual benefit and mutual respect prevail"
MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov anticipates that the era of global changes will be long and will take decades.
"I have little idea of what the world would be like at the end on this century and I don’t think that anyone can describe the shape of the future world," he said at the Znanie (Knowledge) youth marathon. "Each of us and the entire country must spend this time worthily."
"Probably, it will take decades rather than years," he added.
According to the Kremlin spokesman, the world is moving from the unipolar model to a "multipolar system, a fairer, non-colonial system, where relations of equality, mutual benefit and mutual respect prevail and where large countries do not seek teach small countries how to live, don’t impose their standards on others, and don’t tolerate when someone is meddling into their domestic affairs."
"This is a long and very painful transition because countries of the notorious global 1%, which are gradually losing the role of a hegemon, don’t want to lose this role, are clinging to this role, using their economic might," Peskov said, adding that economic development centers are unfailingly moving from the West to the East.
"And we see that Russia, China, and India are ranked among the top five countries in terms of the GDP, the parity of purchasing capacity. This vector is irreversible," the Kremlin spokesman stressed. "We are moving toward a new world, although its shapes are still vague."
