"Frankly speaking, I do not know anyone who takes such publications seriously," Dmitry Peskov noted

MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has dismissed media rumors that Moscow might allegedly send some kind of incendiary devices on airplanes toward the United States as fake news.

"We have seen it, it can only be called fake news. This happens not for the first time. It is already a trend. Absolute hoaxes are published," he told the media.

"Frankly speaking, I do not know anyone who takes such publications seriously," Peskov continued. "They have completely discredited themselves as sources of trustworthy information. No one trusts such content."

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal published an article claiming that the shipment of explosives was some kind of covert Russian operation. At the end of October, the National Prosecutor's Office of Poland said that the special services detained four members of a subversive group operating in the EU countries on the suspicion of sending explosives using delivery services. According to the investigation, the group was engaged in sending parcels with hidden explosives and hazardous materials through delivery companies to the EU countries and the Britain. The parcels spontaneously ignited or detonated during ground or air transportation. The perpetrators’ ultimate aim, according to the Polish side, was to use this channel to send parcels containing explosives to Canada and the United States.
