Russia’s UN envoy says statements by West expose Kiev’s responsibility for attacks on ZNPP
"They not only completely gave away Zelensky's regime, but also confessed to their own complicity in these irresponsible bombardments," said Vasily Nebenzya
UNITED NATIONS, April 16. /TASS/. Russia’s UN envoy Vasily Nebenzya said Western countries on Monday inadvertently exposed Kiev’s responsibility for attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power station, and their own involvement.
"Our Western colleagues, inadvertently spoke out today in the form of an ultimatum: Hand over control over the ZNPP and there will be no shelling of you. By doing so, they not only completely gave away Zelensky's regime, but also confessed to their own complicity in these irresponsible bombardments," he said at a UN Security Council meeting.
Nebenzya added that Russia expects that European countries will not risk their security by backing the ideas of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
"I would like to believe that our European neighbors have not yet atrophied the instinct of self-preservation and will not put at risk the lives and health of their own citizens, because if the Ukrainian strikes on the Zaporozhye NPP continue, no one can completely rule out a nuclear disaster of regional and even global scale. I would like to believe that the public of European countries will realize the danger of such a scenario and will not let their security be sacrificed for the sake of the insane ideas of the Zelensky regime," he said.
