Zaporozhye NPP says it announced air raid alerts on Friday
The intensity of attacks on the ZNPP has increased manyfold over the recent days
MELITOPOL, April 12. /TASS/. The Zaporozhye nuclear power plant issued air raid warnings on Friday, Communications Director Yevgeniya Yashina told TASS.
"The threat of attacks remains. There were air raid alerts today," she said.
The intensity of attacks on the ZNPP has increased manyfold over the recent days. On April 10 and 11, Yashina told TASS that the activity of Ukrainian military drones near the plant was not decreasing, an aerial threat regime was put in place, and Ukrainian drones were being detected over the city of Energodar, where the plant is located.
From April 5-9, Ukrainian forces attacked the ZNPP several times. One of the attacks injured three people and damaged a truck that was unloading food near a canteen in the area of the ZNPP’s cargo port and nitrogen-oxygen station No. 2. Another drone hit the roof of Reactor Unit No. 6, and later debris of a suicide drone that was shot down over the plant crashed into the roof of the same reactor unit. Also under attack was the building housing the world's only full-scale reactor hall simulator.
