Iran has every right to retaliate to Israeli attack, envoy to Russia says
It was reported earlier that the US and its allies believed a retaliatory strike by Iran on Israel’s military and government targets was imminent
MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Tehran has every right to retaliate to Israel's attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said.
"Israel carried out a direct attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, in the Syrian Arab Republic, in broad daylight. Our military advisors were there in the Syrian Arab Republic at the invitation of the country’s government, so [we know that] Israel violated Syria’s sovereignty and acted in full contradiction to all conventions of international law," the envoy stressed at an international conference on Russia-Iran cooperation. "Iran has every right to respond to Israel’s aggression," he added.
Bloomberg reported earlier, citing sources, that the US and its allies believed a retaliatory strike by Iran on Israel’s military and government targets was imminent. According to the sources, an attack involving high-precision missiles may happen in the coming days. US officials are helping Israel by sharing intelligence assessments.
