Attacks prompt evacuation of over 10,000 children from Belgorod Region, says governor

MOSCOW, April 8. /TASS/. Around 10,000 children have been evacuated from the borderline region of Belgorod to other parts of the country to protect them from the bombing, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on his page on VKontakte.
"Some 10,000 of our children have been accommodated in other regions," he said, expressing gratitude first of all to his fellow governors. "The need [for further accommodation] remains," he added.
According to Gladkov, on Sunday he held talks with the heads of the Pskov, Ivanovo and Kostroma regions as well as with the leader of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Also, a relevant agreement has been reached with the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, he said.
Meanwhile, around 650 apartments and private homes have been damaged in Ukrainian attacks on the city of Belgorod over the past week, Mayor Valentin Demidov told an emergency meeting of the regional government on Monday.
