Finnish authorities fuel Russophobia in their country – Russian Ambassador
Pavel Kuznetsov emphasized, there remains a fairly large number of people in the country, who are still convinced that maintaining civilized relations with Russia meets the national interests of Finland
MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. The Finnish authorities and the media are deliberately fueling Russophobia and war hysteria in their country, which has become a part of everyday life, Russian Ambassador to Finland Pavel Kuznetsov said in an interview with TASS.
"Unfortunately, many years of vast and targeted manipulations of public consciousness in the information space in the spirit of the Western anti-Russian mainstream sentiments could not help but influence the mood of Finnish society. Russophobia, fanned by the media and the state, war panic, espionage mania, and intimidation by ‘hybrid threats’ from the East, have become the norm of everyday life in Finland," he said, answering a question about the mood in Finnish society against the backdrop of the anti-Russian policy of Finland’s authorities.
At the same time, the Russian ambassador emphasized, there remains a fairly large number of people in the country, including social and political figures, who are still convinced that maintaining civilized relations with Russia meets the national interests of Finland.
