Seizure of Vodyanoye near Avdeyevka expands bridgehead for Russian troops, says DPR
Igor Kimakovsky noted that the liberation of Vodyanoye will help cut the number of Kiev’s artillery bombardments of the northern outskirts of Donetsk
DONETSK, April 5. /TASS/. The liberation of the community of Vodyanoye near Avdeyevka expands the bridgehead for Russian troops in several directions, adviser to the DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) head Igor Kimakovsky told TASS on Friday.
"The liberation of Vodyanoye has opened up additional opportunities for our troops, enabling them to substantially expand the bridgehead and press the enemy in several directions at once," he said.
These directions are powerful strongholds of the Ukrainian army. In addition, the liberation of Vodyanoye will help cut the number of Kiev’s artillery bombardments of the northern outskirts of Donetsk, the adviser said.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported earlier that Russian troops had liberated the community of Vodyanoye in the Avdeyevka direction.
